TOP OF THE POPS, c/Sagasta, 22 (Alonso Martínez, Bilbao) Thurs, 10pm-3am. Resident DJ Maicol Da Lowa and Sara Iñiguez Rubia playing the best 60s psychadelia, 70s glam rock, groove, west coast and soul… and it’s free to get in! 

SUPERSONIC, c/Melendez Valdés, 25 (Argüelles). Thurs-Sat. 9.30am-3am. The best indie in town. Worth seeing what the fuss is about.

PALACIO GAVIRIA, c/Arenal, 9 (Sol/Ópera). Daily, m-idnight-6am. A palace-cum-disco with different music in every room, and international nights on Thursdays. 

KAPITAL, c/Atocha, 125 (Atocha). Fri-Sat, midnight-6am. This seven-floor macro-club is over the top, and plays everything from house to hip hop to Spanish pop.

CAFÉ LA PALMA, c/La Palma, 61 (Noviciado). Thurs-Sat, m-idnight-4am. Funky bar with all sorts of tricks up its sleeve: breaks, electro, funk and house at the hands of Fernando Gullón, Herman and Matt Correa. Great place to get the night started. 

Danzoo Warm Up, La Terraza de Chamartín, Estación de Chamartín (Chamartín). Fridays, 11.30pm-3am. Start your night right will a little minimal, a little techno, some drum ‘n’ bass and a bit of house. Danzoo Warm Up is back and getting busy every Friday, the idea being to throw back a few before heading into Macumba. With a line up of top-notch djs this month, this is fast shaping up as the place to be. 

AREIA, c/Hortaleza, 92 (Chueca/Alonso Martínez). Every day, 1pm-3am. Great pre-party with house, Brazilian beats and minimal, depending on the night. Funky décor and always crowded.
Late
BLUE, Balcón de Rosales, Paseo del Pintor Rosales (Arguelles, Ventura Rodriguez). Saturdays, 12.30-6am. You just can’t stop Kiko Barba and JL Magoya- when they start spinning their trademark electro and house, the party can officially begin. Now in a new venue, so check it out and you’ll be anything but blue. 

SUPERKLUB, Sala But. c/Barceló, 11, (Metro: Tribunal). Sundays, midnight-6am. Sunday evenings just got better than ever, with Suberklub spilling non-stop house music into your Monday morning as if the weekend was never going to end. 

We Love Sundays, Palacio Gaviria, c/Arenal, 9 (Sol). Sundays, 7pm-close. Shake what you got in this palace-cum-disco and choose from any of the three rooms to get busy, with one for minimal, one for electro-house and one for house. 

CELEBRATE, Sala Wind, c/Montera, 25 (Gran Vía). Thursdays, m-idnight-close. House music with Iván Pica, Juanjo Martín and Javier del Mar and a different weekly theme. 

ELÁSTICO FLEXICLUB, Sala Wind, c/Montera, 25 (entrance in Pl del Carmen) (Gran Vía). Sat, midnight-6am. Resident djs Scream, Smart and Luiliminili spin every Saturday night, plus there’ll be plenty of international guest djs. 

SPACE OF SOUND, Pl Estación de Chamartín (Chamartín). Sun, 10am-7pm. All-day parties on the roof of the station with laser shows, go-gos and more . . . the ultimate party? 

DEEP, Sala Changó, c/Luchana semiesquina c/Covarrubias (Bilbao). Fri, midnight-6am. JL Magoya and Juan Sanchez spinning the best deep house in Madrid, with Stardust as a guest once every month.

DU:OM, Sala Heineken, c/Princesa, 1 (Plaza de España) Fri and Sat, m-idnight-close. Dress to impress and dance the night away to house and progressive house by some truly talented djs: Hugo Serra, Iván Pica and Pombo.

INDEPENDENCE CLUB, Sala Bogui, c/Barquillo, 29 (Chueca/Alonso Martínez). Fri-Sat, 1.30-6am.. New and very cool spot where you can hear Franz Ferdinand, Flaming Lips, Arctic Monkeys, Oasis, and everyone in between. 

EL JUNCO, Plaza Santa Bárbara, 10 (Alonso Martínez). Daily, 10pm-6am. Late-night funk and electronic jazz. 

OCHO Y MEDIO, c/Mesonero Romanos, 13, Esq. Gran Vía, 34 (Callao). Fri, 1am-6am. Popular night featuring electro-disco, bastard-pop, punk-rock, new wave and post-punk. 

NEU!CLUB, Sala Galileo Galilei, c/Galileo, 100 (Islas Filipinas). Sat, 9.30pm-5.30am. Electronica, bluegrass, motown, 60s, rock, pop etc. during the musical, cultural and audiovisual nights and live music and dj sessions. 

SOULFOOD, Marula Café, c/Caños Viejos, 3 (La Latina). Fri, midnight-6am. Jazz, hip-hop and soul until dawn in this modern yet retro venue. 

VEKTRUM, Sala Bash, Pl Callao, 4 (Callao). Thurs, midnight-6am. Start the weekend early dancing to trip-hop, acid jazz, electro and drum ‘n’ bass.

SPECIAL NIGHTS
Goa, Kings and Queens, Sala Fabrik, Avda. de la Industria, 82, Crta. Fuenlabrada-Moraleja de En medio km 3,500, Humanes de Madrid, Sunday, February 3, 12pm-midnight. Carnaval is here once again and what better way to celebrate than at the Goa? Fabrik is rolling out the red carpet with an open invitation to come and be a king for a day. There’ll be music from Shindoe, Ink and Needle, Pan-pot and Chateau Flight, among others, and the spacious sala will be decked out like a palace. 


X Ciclo de Música Jamaicana y Raggae, Siroco, c/San Dimas, 3 (Noviciado). Thursday, February 7, 12.30am-6am. Small, intimate and fun, fun, fun — that’s the perpetual plan at Siroco. But now’s the time to get down and dirty to the hottest reggae music in town. Feel the Jamaican vibes until the wee hours of the morning in this little basement venue, as Jah Williams and Gudlak provide the punters with the reggae rhythms that make it impossible not to shake that booty until dawn. 


Bart Skils, Mondo, Sala Stella, c/Arlaban, 7 (Sevilla). Saturday, February 8, 1am-close. Isn’t it about that time to put a little Bart Skils in your life? If you’re a techno fan then indeed it is. He is one of Holland’s hottest djs. Spinning an award-worthy mix of everything from rhythmic deep techno to minimal electronica, this Dutch sensation has been tearing it up on decks all the world over. From Mazza Club to Dance Valley to Awakenings and now to Mondo, it’s hats off to Mr Skils.
